The Restore Wizard

This "wizard" leads you through the process of restoring your herd database from a backup.

You can restore your herd database from one of these sources.  (You must restore your database from the same place that you backed it up.)

Choose one of the following topics:

Restoring from Floppy Disk(s)
Restoring from Another Drive (CD-R, USB, or other disk)
Restoring from an On-Line Backup

Restoring from Floppy Disks(s)

Find the diskettes that you used when you made the backup.  Insert the first one and click the Next button.  Follow the instructions for inserting other diskettes if required.

If the backup files are not on floppy disks, yet you backed up the database to floppies originally, you can select a different location for the files by clicking the "Change Location" button.  This may occur if the floppies had been copied to your hard disk outside of DairyLive.

Restoring from Another Drive (CD-R, USB, or Other Disk)

In the first field, enter the full path to the backup file.  You can click the Browse button to search for this file.  In the second field, enter a full path to the file you want to be created from the backup.  Click the Browse button to select this file.

Restoring from an On-line Backup

Your user name will be shown in the first field.  If you are restoring a file for another user name, you must enter that name and click the Refresh button.  Select the backup you want to restore and click the "Next" button.  On the next screen, enter the security key that was used when the backup was made.  Check the file name that the file will be restored to.  This will default to the name of the original file.  Click the "Next" button to begin the download.
