Features
DairyLive is a herd management and
lactation data analysis application. It is a friendly
application that employs a familiar and intuitive user interface
and exploits the power of Windows.
Some of the features include:
- A Herd
Explorer, modeled
after the Windows Explorer, for browsing your animals,
lists, and reports.
- An Animal
Details View, that
maintains basic animal information (birthday, breed,
etc.). You can also import a photograph of the
animal.
- An Event
View that shows
all events that have occured for an animal or group of
animals. Events can be sorted on date, event name,
animal, etc., and you can filter out events you don't
want to see.
- A Reminder
View that is
similar to the Event view, except that it shows events
that haven't happened yet.
- A List View, that allows you to define a check
list of animals and view the list, along with properties
that you have selected. You can graphically set up
list criteria (e.g., Cows in their 3rd lactation that are
bred but not confirmed pregnant) and then generate the
list against some "As Of" date. This
allows you to view the current state of your herd as well
as the state of your herd, say, one year ago.
DairyLive comes with dozens of "pre-defined"
lists that are already set up. You can refine these
or create new ones. You can also merge two or more lists
together to form a combined list.
- A Report
View, that extends
the List view by letting you report on several groups of
animals. You can set up a report to organize the
data by weeks, months, quarters, or years, over a
specified time period. The report will also show
summary data by groups, e.g., totals, averages, standard
deviations, etc. Several "pre-defined"
reports are included. New ones can be created by using
point and click. Reports can be exported to HTML
files or to comma-separated files for import into other
applications, such as Word and Excel.
- Data import from DHIA labs and milking equipment. This
version of DairyLive supports import from AgSource 310
files, AgSource herd history files, AgriTech
"receive" files, Raleigh DNL files, files from
PA DHIA, and DHIA Standard Transfer files. This version
also supports importing data from Boumatic models 2040,
2045, and 2050 and from Germainia equipment. Other
interfaces are being developed, and we plan to support
all of the major DHIA processing centers in the country,
as well as many milk metering systems.
- Handheld support for Palm OS compatible devices. Take your herd
data with you!
