The table below shows all of the standard event types that can be used in DairyLive. You can add additional event types via the Event Type Dialog.
| Event Type Name | Description |
| Abortion (New Lact) | The animal aborted in late pregnancy and a new lactation was begun. The animal is considered to be fresh after this event. |
| Abortion (Open) | The animal aborted in early pregnancy and no new lactation was begun. The animal is considered to be open after this event. |
| Breeding | Animal was bred (either naturally or artificially). |
| BST Injection | The animal received a BST injection. |
| CD/T Shot | The animal received a CD/T vaccination (goat herds only). |
| Calving | The animal gave birth and began her lactation. If the herd database is for goats, this event type name is Kidding. |
| Confirmed Pregnant | The animal was confirmed to be pregnant. |
| Dry Off | The animal was dried off. |
| Embryo Transfer | An embryo was transferred to this animal. |
| General Medical | A general medical event for this animal. |
| General Vaccination | The animal was given a vaccination. |
| Heat | Animal was detected to be in heat, but the animal was not serviced. |
| J-5 Vaccination | The animal received a J-5 vaccination (dairy cattle herds only). |
| Mastitis | The animal was determined to have mastitis. |
| Milk Culture | A milk culture was taken from this animal. |
| MLV-9-Way | The animal received a MLV-9-Way vaccination (dairy cattle herds only). |
| Negative Pregnancy | The animal was confirmed to be not pregnant. |
| No BST | The animal was designated to not receive BST treatments. |
| Post-Partum Check | The animal received a post-partum check. |
| Repro Treatment | The animal was given a reproductive drug. |
| Selenium Shot | The animal receive a selenium injection (goat herds only). |
