Test Dates Dialog
To add, remove, or combine test
dates, you will use the Test Dates dialog. To get to this dialog,
you can select Manage Test Dates from the Tools menu. Or you can
first go to the Enter Test Day Data dialog, which will allow you to manually
enter test day data.
NOTE: When you import test data using the Import
Test Day Data dialog, you
do not need to create the test dates ahead of time. They will be
created automatically.
- New Date
- To add a new test date, press
this button.
- Delete
- To remove a test date, select
it in the list and then press this button. You can also
select multiple dates. WARNING: When you delete a test
date, all lactation information for that test date is
also removed from the herd database.
-
- Combine
- To combine multiple test
dates into a single test, select the dates you want to
combine and then click the Combine button. Why would you
want to do this? If you enter milk weights daily, your
database will get very big with lots of lactation data.
For data that is several months old, you may need to only
keep summarized data for each week or month. Combining
test dates will save space in your database and also make
your lists and reports be generated faster.
-
- When you combine test dates,
the dates being combined must be sequential. Also, if a
cow is not in milk on the last date of the group of dates
being combined, the combined test information will be
assigned to the day before her dry-off. For example, if
you entered daily milk weights for April and you want to
combine all test dates and assign it a date of April 30,
if a cow was dried off on April 15, she will have a test
date of April 14.
